Health Creation Celebration Event!
Maqbul Rose -Project Manager from Manchester Settlement leading on the Health Creation hosted a celebration event to congratulate the organisations involved in the programme for completing their projects!
The event was held at the Guidance Hub on the evening of Friday, 12th July and showcased the achievements made by the organisations in embedding the ‘Health Creation Framework’ which uses an approach that enables individuals to gain a sense of purpose, hope, mastery and control over their own lives and immediate environment and when this happens their health and wellbeing is enhanced.
Various project health themes were represented by the 9 organisations from Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations to improving physical activity to self-care and disease management around diabetes.
The VCSE leads and health creators (volunteers) have found the project has built confidence within their volunteers and thus they have taken the lead to raise an awareness and understanding of their health theme; being active and taking control of their projects.
The project has facilitated connections between organisations and new friendships and support groups have been formed!
Quote “The Health Creation Framework made us redesign our project so that it was not just about healthy eating and dieting. We answered the questions that the community was asking about the misconceptions about diabetes. The Framework allowed us to empower the community to take information home and to take the community along with us”- Nisi, Project Lead - Across Ummah.
Manchester Settlement has been working in partnership with ‘The Health Creation Alliance’ (THCA), in the delivery of the project and a final report will be produced to share the findings and recommendation for Phase 2!
